Welcome to EdgeTabs. By downloading, installing, or using the EdgeTabs app ("the App"), you agree to the following Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read them carefully before using the App.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using EdgeTabs, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App. We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time, and your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
2. Description of Service
EdgeTabs is a desktop utility that creates floating, auto-hiding file drawers anchored to the edges of your screen. Each tab is backed by a real folder on your computer, letting you drag and drop files, use the clipboard, browse subfolders, preview, search, and organize your files without opening Finder or File Explorer. EdgeTabs is available for macOS 11 or later and for Windows 10 and Windows 11.
3. Purchases, Pricing & Billing
EdgeTabs is distributed through the Mac App Store and the Microsoft Store. Any applicable purchase price, subscription plan, or free trial is displayed on the App's store listing at the time of purchase. All purchases and any subscriptions are processed, billed, and managed entirely by Apple (through your Apple ID) or Microsoft (through your Microsoft account).
If your purchase is a subscription, it may automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can view, manage, or cancel a subscription at any time through your Apple ID or Microsoft account settings. Prices are shown in your local currency and may vary by region based on store pricing.
4. Free Trial
If a free trial is offered for EdgeTabs, its length and terms will be shown on the store listing at the time you subscribe. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your paid subscription will begin automatically and the applicable fee will be charged by the app store. Trial eligibility is determined by Apple or Microsoft and is typically limited to one per account.
5. Refunds
All purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple or Microsoft, and refund requests must be submitted through them. For Apple purchases, visit reportaproblem.apple.com; for Microsoft purchases, visit your Microsoft account. We do not process refunds directly.
6. Your Files and Responsibilities
EdgeTabs operates on the files and folders you choose to manage with it. You are solely responsible for those files and how you use the App. You agree to:
- Use the App in compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws.
- Maintain your own backups of important files. EdgeTabs performs standard file operations (move, copy, delete to Trash/Recycle Bin) that you initiate.
- Not use the App for any illegal, harmful, or unauthorized purpose, or to handle files you do not have the right to access.
7. Data Storage and Privacy
EdgeTabs stores all of its data locally on your computer, and the files it displays remain in the folders you selected on your own drive. We do not collect, access, or store your data on any external server. For full details on how your data is handled, please review our Privacy Policy.
8. Intellectual Property
EdgeTabs and all associated content, features, and functionality — including but not limited to the app design, code, graphics, and user interface — are owned by Royal Sites and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the App.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
EdgeTabs is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We make no guarantees regarding the accuracy, reliability, or availability of the App or its features. You are responsible for maintaining backups of your files.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, EdgeTabs and Royal Sites shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of files, loss of revenue, or business interruption, arising from your use of or inability to use the App. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months preceding the claim.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless EdgeTabs and Royal Sites from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.
12. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without cause and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the App will immediately cease. Provisions regarding data ownership, limitation of liability, and indemnification shall survive termination.
13. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Georgia, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved in the courts of the State of Georgia.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
